catching up

I feel like I have been running in circles for the last 2 weeks. Last week one of my students was killed in a tragic automobile accident. I wasn't aware that I was so attached to these students already. That was the most horrible thing I have ever had to do. The children in my class as well as myself were very sad about it. I wanted to allow her classmates to write a letter to the family expressing their relationship with her. Most of them did this and I took these letters to the family at the funeral. Needless to say, this has left a somber mood over the class. I hope none of you have to deal with this.
